The Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X is officially the quickest American production car on sale. It is also the fastest car over a 1/4 mile that doesn’t cost a million dollars.
The Corvette ZR1X completed the quarter mile in 8.675 seconds at 159 mph. It’s a new record for sub-$1 million cars. It beat the Lucid Air Sapphire’s time of 8.95 seconds at 158 mph.

The ZR1X was blistering quick off the line. It sprinted from 0-60 mph in just 1.68 seconds – 0.21 seconds quicker than the Lucid Air.

The ZR1X used for the record run was equipped with the standard aero package and carbon fibre wheels wrapped in Michelin PS4S tires. The surface was prepped prior to the run.
The ZR1X is the most extreme version of the current-generation Corvette. It is powered by a 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, paired with an electric motor. It produces a total output of 1,250 BHP, sending power to all four wheels.
